This web site was set up at the end of 1999, with the aim of promoting the club, particularly to students considering applying to the college, and of providing information and amusement to current members.
Running at the university is organised primarily on a university basis. There is both a running club, Cambridge University Hare and Hounds and an athletic club, Cambridge University Athletic Club. The colleges compete against one another in the Chris Brasher league, a series of races in the Michaelmas and Lent terms. There is also the annual Cuppers race - not included in the league this is the inter college race of the year and also final selection for the Varsity cross country teams. Jesus College Cross Country Club caters for runners of all abilities. Some run occasionally, and some more often - you can do it competitively, for fitness or just for fun. One notable former JCXC runner was Herb Elliot, at the college in the sixties, after winning an Olympic 1500m Gold in Rome.
Over recent years we have had much success, last year (2005-06) the men's team won both the league and Cuppers! Whilst Captain Will George won the individual titles and was again a member of the Varsity Blues team.
