| Description: | This is a fantastic room - very spacious for the money (Chapel Court is probably one of the best value for money halls in Cambridge) There is loads of floorspace (good when you have guests to stay, or if you like dancing around...) with two wardrobes and no shortage of drawers. One of the wardrobes can be locked with a padlock in term time so you can leave various items behind. The bookshelf has 5 levels, so there is loads of space for books and/or bottles of booze. The view out of the large window is very nice, you see the games pitches, and can see the uni boathouses (inc. the Jesus one) by the river in the distance. No unsightly buildings in sight. The kitchen is right below, which is modern and spacious. However, it can be problematic if you want an early night and there are people making a noise in there. The room is out of the way a bit, you don't get anyone walking past and popping in for a chat, which can be either good or bad. A problem with this room is that it overlooks Jesus Common, which is good 90% of the time, but at the rest of the time it is home to traveling fairs/circuses and the infamous Strawberry fest in exam term which can be noisy, but shouldn't be a huge problem if you have the windows closed. The desk looks straight out of the window Overall, this room is very good! Compared to friends at other uni's, the Chapel Court rooms are similarly priced, yet you get a LOT more for your money. | ||
