JFlashMM was designed by Intel for use with their development boards but can be used to write the flash memory on the WMA11b. JFlashMM accesses the flash memory through the CPU using the JTAG debugging interface.
You need an intel jtag cable to connect the WMA11b hardware to your parallel port. These are straightforward to build if you don't happen to have one lying around. It is also necessary to add a JTAG connector to your WMA11b circuit board.
To recognise and program the flash memory JFlashMM needs additional data files. Save these files in the JFlashMM program directory:
To download the file image.bin into flash use the
command:
jflashmm wma11b image.bin P 0 PAR
Flashing a 2MB image takes a long time, about 2 hours on my (slow) PC. Obviously much smaller images such as bootloaders are much quicker.
