Dance

Jack is a performance artist who works in the vague realms of theatre and contemporary dance. Before coming to Cambridge, Jack trained with the Centre for Advanced Training (C.A.T.) and National Youth Dance Company. Jack is in their first year at Jesus College, studying Education: English, Drama and the Arts.

Their process is improvisational, working within the space and the music, attempting to embody atmosphere, feeling and memory. What came out of this process was a vague collection of images from their religious upbringing. Dance as a practice, for Jack, inevitably addresses their relationship between their body and their trans*ness. In this piece, Jack’s concern with body and gender found connection to religion, devotion and sexuality.
